Lance Keimig

Lance Keimig’s interest in night photography dates back to 1984, when he was first introduced to the camera. In 1997, he cofounded the Nocturnes Night Photography Workshops with Tim Baskerville. Keimig currently leads night photography workshops across the United States, in Ireland, and in Scotland. In 2003, he cofounded the Mono Lake Photo Workshops with Christian Waeber. Keimig's work is held in the collections of the Duxbury Art Complex Museum, the Boston Public Library, the Boston Athenaeum, and numerous corporate collections including Fidelity, Hitachi, and Rayovac.

Zakim Full Frontal

The headlights from oncoming cars, the floodlit bridge, and the clear winter sky made this scene extremely high in contrast. In order to maximize detail in both the highlight and shadow areas, Lance Keimig exposed the shot for maximum shadow detail and then processed the film in the compensating developer Diafine.
